Father's Day staycation
We surprised Frank on Father's Day with a night at the Four Seasons, a round of golf with his friend Josh, an afternoon to relax at the hotel pool followed by dinner with me and Astyn, and then Sunday lunch at the hotel pool and swimming with the kids. I think he was completely shocked when we gave him his gift on Friday night. We had just spent a ton of money on our California trip, and the last thing he was expecting was an extravagant gift and/or a night away. But he deserves it! He works so hard for our family, and he is such a wonderful Dad. Both kids love him, and lately, Lily absolutely adores her Daddy. She is growing more and more attached to him as she gets older. Frank was not sure he even wanted to have kids, but he is such a loving person, and I always knew he would be a wonderful Dad.
We got lucky with the weather, and the guys enjoyed their day to golf and relax, and we had a great time at dinner with the Davis's. We used to just pop over to each other's houses all the time when we lived on the same street, but since we both moved, we do not get to see each other as often. It was so fun to catch up and revisit our old stomping grounds. The kids had sooooo much fun at the club pool on Sunday. It really makes me miss being members there. The kids swam in the pool for about an hour, played in the sandy beach for another hour, and then enjoyed lunch before we headed home. I think the entire family had a wonderful time, and I really hope that Frank enjoyed his gift! We told the buys we would not mind if they reciprocate for Mother's Day next year.
