Pregnancy brain

I am quickly discovering that pregnancy brain is real! I have been making really stupid mistakes with really simple tasks lately. For example, I made blueberry muffins and forgot to add the eggs. I made brownies and forgot to add the water. And both of these recipes were out of boxes--we are not talking about anything gourmet here. I also managed to give my mother two incorrect addresses for friends she was sending out baby shower invites to. I even asked one of the friends directly what her address is and just made a transposition error. Ahh! Thank goodness I have not had these issues at work yet (knock on wood)!!

Jayson & Amy wedding

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Reeves! Yesterday I went to Jayson & Amy's wedding at Elmwood Gardens, in Palestine, Texas, and it was absolutely beautiful. Frank unfortunately was not able to come with me, because he is in Auburn for grad school, but he was there in spirit. I drove out there a few hours early to spend the afternoon with Amy Burch and Sara. We layed out at the pool and chatted and had a great time catching up. Baby Frank especially enjoyed the rock candy, wedding cake, and country music. There were several little children and babies there, and it made me a little teary-eyed to think that we will have our little man with us so soon.

Here are a couple of my favorite pictures from the wedding:

Proud of my husband

I just got back from the airport where I dropped Frank off on his way to Auburn. Today is his first day of grad school, and I am so proud of him! He is going to be a busy man for the next two years, but I am sure that all of his hard work will pay off in the long run. I am continually amazed by his determination, ambition, and quest to make himself a better person. I know that he is going to do great and learn so much. Good luck babe!

I can't believe that I have made it to the third trimester. Baby Frank is due exactly three months from tomorrow. I am so excited!

26 weeks: Monkey mural, glider, and weekend visitors

I am just over 26 weeks pregnant--only 14 more weeks to go! Today I went in for another routine doctor's appointment, and everything looks great. The baby's heart rate sounded great, and the doctor said that I am measuring right on schedule. I also managed to gain less weight this month than the last two months, which I was happy about. I go back to the doctor in three weeks to have another sonogram to check the baby's size. I also took the glucose test today to test for gestational diabetes, and I am hoping to get good news about those results later this week.

The picture above was taken on Saturday night, when Frank and I went to dinner with Corey and Katie. The super cute shirt I am wearing is one of the maternity shirts that Katie is letting me borrow. I had a great visit with the girls, it was good to catch up and spend some time shopping and hanging out. I finally ventured out with them to a maternity store, and it was nice to try on clothes and feel small again, compared to going to regular stores and feeling huge! I bought a couple of really cute dresses to wear to upcoming weddings and baby showers.

These are a couple of more pictures from Saturday night:

On Sunday, we met Allison and Tyler for lunch in Southlake. It was great to have Tyler come up in visit, and I wish that I had gotten to spend more time with him. He was really excited to feel Baby Frank kick, but unfortunately he did not cooperate! Tyler will just have to come back and visit again soon.

After lunch and running some errands we decided to tackle another big nursery project: putting up the tree and monkey wall decals. It was quite the production, and it took us almost four hours to get everything up, but I have to say that it looks great! I love the detail that it adds to the nursery. Here are some pictures of the process:

Huge mess
Frank did such a good job, I could not have done it without him!

Of course I helped too, and whoa I look really pregnant in this picture!

The finished product!

Today we finally got our glider! We ordered it from Serena & Lily, and Frank was especially happy because it was made in the USA. It turned out great, but the delivery company was terrible. Frank called Serena & Lily to complain, and they were very understanding and credited us the $200 they charged us for shipping. With such great customer service, we will definitely buy from them in the future! I am so happy that the nursery is getting close to being complete.

Here are some pictures of the glider:

99 days!

Only 99 days until Baby Frank is set to make his debut! As you can see above, my stomach has grown enormously over the last couple of weeks. Just this week, people finally started to ask me when I am due, if I am pregnant, etc. It is exciting to finally look pregnant! I go back for another doctor's appointment on Monday, which should be pretty routine except for the diabetes screening test. I cannot imagine giving up sweets, so let's all hope I pass with flying colors!

I have received a bunch of the decorations that I ordered for the nursery, and we are getting the glider and ottoman on Monday, so stay tuned for updated pictures of nursery progress. After saying that I did not want the room to have a theme, I have gone a little monkey crazy. There is too much cute monkey stuff out there!

My brother and my good friends Katie and Corey are in town this weekend visiting, so it will be good to spend some time with all of them. Katie brought me up a ton of maternity clothes, which is great because I am just now starting to grow out of most of my shirts.

I am still feeling great except for some heartburn. I have been randomly craving a pumpkin cupcake for the last few days, but other than that, I am just eating pretty normally. Can't wait to meet my baby boy!

House update

This week we had the wood on our stairs handscraped and had Baby Frank's nursery painted. Everything turned out great! The stairs look fantastic, and they are no longer slippery! We were really concerned about the stairs, because they were very slick before. I stayed with Allison & Steve all week while the work was being completed, because I did not want to be around the fumes. It was nice to spend so much time with them, and after my nightmare 1 hour 45 minute commute on Monday night, the drive was not so bad the rest of the week.

Here are some pictures of the stairs and nursery walls:

Isn't baby monkey stuff super cute?? One of my sweet coworkers brought me this adorable hooded monkey towel and wash rag this week.

I am still feeling great, working out consistently, and generally sleeping better. I haven't had any uncontrollable cravings, but I am still craving bread, cheese, salad, and cake pretty much all of the time. I was outside in the backyard today and I happened to catch this gorgeous butterfly in our lantana. It may be extremely hot outside, but all our flowers are looking great!

Six months pregnant!

Today I am six months pregnant! It is so hard to believe that Baby Frank will be entering the world so soon. I am still feeling great and hoping that continues as I get closer to the third trimester. I think the thing that I am most scared about is my feet growing. So far, they are still the same size, but I have heard horror stories about women whose feet expanded and never went back down in size.

This week was pretty busy, but it sure was nice having Frank home. We went to the Rangers game on Thursday night with Frank's air force unit and Allison and Steve came with us. We had amazing seats, it was a great game, and the Rangers won! Everyone in Dallas is really excited about the Rangers being in first place. Baby Frank kicked a TON throughout the game, so obviously baseball must be his favorite sport. On Saturday, I went with my sister to a cake tasting for my baby shower cake. It was delicious, and everyone knows how much I love cake, so I was really excited about that. We also went to a jewelry party at Ashlee Zboch's beautiful new home, where I could not resist buying some jewelry. Then Saturday night, Frank cooked a huge feast for me, Don, and Jayson, and we caught up and heard all about Don's recent trip to Italy.

Starting tomorrow, I will be staying at Allison & Steve's house and making the awful 50-mile commute to work all week. I am dreading the drive! We are having the wood floor on the stairs scraped and stained and having the baby's room painted, so I want to get out of the house to avoid the fumes. I can't wait to see how everything looks when it is finished!
