Lily is 2!

We celebrated Lily's second birthday with a Minnie Mouse themed party at our house the weekend before we headed to California.  I ordered a delicious extravagant cake from Society Bakery, and it did not disappoint.  Kiersten made Lily's minnie birthday banner, and otherwise the party was pretty low-key with appetizers, balloons, and red and white streamers.  Erik and Stella and Nana and Papa all came to town to help celebrate, along with several friends and their families.  Lily was not feeling well, so she did not enjoy the party as much as we hoped.  Later that day, she spiked a fever of 104.  We took her to the doctor and they said she looked fine, so it must have been a mystery virus.

On June 10, we celebrated Lily's actual birthday at home with swimming, grilling out, and cupcakes!  We bought her a basketball goal for her birthday gift, because she loves basketball!  I still cannot believe my "baby" is already 2.  She is becoming a big girl right before our eyes, and I feel like she learns something new every day.  At two years old, Lily is:

23.6 lbs and 33.5 inches.  She is in the 11th percentile for weight and the 37th percentile for height.  She is going to be a petite little miss!

Still mostly a great eater, although she has started to say "yuck" more lately regarding various foods.

Wearing size 24 months or 2T clothes, still in size 4 diapers

Loves to jump, including jumping into the pool.  This girl is very physical, and she is not scared of anything!

Talking so much.  She does not say full sentences yet, but she will say two or three word phrases like "hop in pool,"  "hold on tight," "Lily's turn," etc.  She can count to 10, but sometimes she misses 7.  She knows all of her primary colors, and pretty much every imaginable animal and animal sound.

She is a very good listener.  She is starting to get more independent and feisty, but she is still generally a very compliant child (unlike her brother)!!

Very sweet and loving.  She loves to gives hugs and kisses.  She loves babies and animals, especially dogs.

Favorite TV shows:  Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Veggie Tales, Maya the bee

Favorite book:  Goodnight spot, Lily's twinkly bedtime

She looooooooooves her Daddy!

Happy Birthday sweet princess Lily. We love you so much, and I cannot wait to watch you grow up.  You are the most beautiful girl in the world.

Love, Mommy
