Prayers for a hero
Yesterday our family received the devastating news that Frank's brother Monte was severly injured in Afghanistan. From what we know, Monte was hit with an IED, and he sustained critical injuries in the process of saving the lives of two of his fellow soldiers. Monte lost both of his legs and one of his hands, and he remains in a medically-induced coma. We are praying hard that he survives. He truly epitomizes the definition of an American hero.
Ironically, we received the news right after we got home from a Fourth of July parade. This day will be forever etched in our memories, and it will color our Fourth of July celebrations for the rest of our lives.
Frank is absolutely heartbroken by this news (really, we all are). He would do anything for anyone, but no one more so than his brother. He would spend every last dollar he has and take every possible measure to ensure that his brother is not suffering. And, in this time of need, he is also extremely overwhelmed and grateful for everyone's support and kindness. We truly appreciate all of the well wishes and prayers, and we ask that they keep coming.
