Happy Birthday Frank!

Happy Birthday Frank!!!! I want to wish my wonderful husband an amazing 35th birthday today. He has been so supportive and helpful to me throughout this pregnancy, and I know that I would not be able to do it without him. He is already a fantastic husband, hard worker, and undyingly loyal friend, brother, and son, so I know that he is going to be an amazing father. I am so excited to share in this incredible journey together, and I know that 35 will be his best year yet! I love you so much Frank--and, as these pictures show below, you don't look a day over 34 :)

30 weeks--10 weeks to go!!

I cannot believe that I only have 10 weeks left to go before Baby Frank's due date!! It is so surreal that I am 3/4 of the way through this pregnancy. As you can see, the bump, and the baby, are continuing to grow! I am still feeling good, although I have a little less energy than I did for the last couple of months. Frank and I spent some time tonight hanging up decorations in Frank's nursery, and I am excited that it is almost finished. My parents and my sister and brother-in-law are hosting our first baby shower this weekend, and we are really excited about that! We can't wait to celebrate with family and good friends.

Sleep, oh how I miss you

Yes, it is 3:49 a.m. and I have not been able to sleep at all tonight. This is the second night in a row of absolutely no sleep. I have some sort of cold and am completely congested, and for some reason, I am completely unable to sleep. I stayed home from work yesterday and managed to take a couple of 2-hour naps during the day, but my body is completely exhausted and I don't know how I am going to fight off this cold without getting any rest!! Tomorrow I need to find out what kind of medicine I am allowed to take--hopefully I can take something that will allow me to get some rest!

Katy is so confused by me being awake so late at night. The poor dog does not know whether it is time to be awake or asleep! I am glad that Frank is coming home tonight so that he can help me take care of her and give her the attention she needs.

Ahh there is nothing on TV in the middle of the night, how am I going to pass the next couple of hours?!

29 weeks

I went to the doctor today for my 29-week appointment and sonogram, and everything looks great! These pictures are pretty blurry, but the top one is of Frank's profile and the bottom one is of his face looking right at the camera. The doctor said that the baby looks great, and he weighs somewhere around 3 pounds right now. It is hard to believe that he is already so big! The doctor predicted that I will have the baby and be home from the hospital before Thanksgiving, but then again he also told me that you really can't accurately predict these things. He is head down for the first time, so that is good news. I somehow managed to gain only one pound since my last appointment, so I am celebrating by baking chocolate chip cookies! Now I start going to the doctor every two weeks for awhile, and before I know it I will be going every week. It is getting close!!!

Tonight I met my coworker's gorgeous three-week old baby girl, and she was adorable. I got to hold her, and it was a pretty amazing feeling. I cannot wait to hold my baby boy in my arms!

Palm Beach

Frank and I spent the three-day weekend in Palm Beach, Florida for a last little vacation before Baby Frank comes. We had a wonderful time! We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in southern Palm Beach, and the hotel was fabulous. We went to the beach, the weather was perfect, and we ate a lot of fresh seafood. Frank convinced me to go out in the ocean, and I had a little wardrobe malfunction with my maternity bathing suit. The water was warm and gorgeous though. On Saturday I treated myself to a prenatal massage at the hotel spa, and it was absolutely amazing. The spa was the nicest I have ever been to, and the massage was wonderful. I was very curious as to how the massage would work, since I am not able to lay on my stomach or back. They had a big pregnancy pillow on the massage table which wrapped around my entire body, and I hugged the pillow while getting the massage. It was so comfortable, I almost fell asleep several times. Saturday night we drove past all of the mega mansions on Palm Beach island and had dinner at a fantastic seafood restaurant.

On Sunday we headed out to Juno Beach to check out Frank's company headquarters. It would be pretty awesome to work a couple of blocks from the beach! We headed north toward Hutchinson Island and met up with my grandma Mammy at her condo. She treated us to a wonderful long lunch, and we stayed for a few hours to hang out and catch up. It was great to see her, and I think she really appreciated having us visit. Later that night Frank took me over to a nice shopping/dining area near his company headquarters for dinner and then we headed back to the hotel. Baby Frank was kicking and dancing like crazy all night, and it was neat that Frank was there to experience that. We are both so excited for him to finally make his debut!

I had to catch an early flight Monday morning to come back to Dallas, and Frank is staying in Palm Beach for the rest of the week for work meetings. It was hard to say goodbye, but I am excited to have him home this weekend.

Here are a few pics from the trip:

Pregnancy brain

I am quickly discovering that pregnancy brain is real! I have been making really stupid mistakes with really simple tasks lately. For example, I made blueberry muffins and forgot to add the eggs. I made brownies and forgot to add the water. And both of these recipes were out of boxes--we are not talking about anything gourmet here. I also managed to give my mother two incorrect addresses for friends she was sending out baby shower invites to. I even asked one of the friends directly what her address is and just made a transposition error. Ahh! Thank goodness I have not had these issues at work yet (knock on wood)!!

Jayson & Amy wedding

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Reeves! Yesterday I went to Jayson & Amy's wedding at Elmwood Gardens, in Palestine, Texas, and it was absolutely beautiful. Frank unfortunately was not able to come with me, because he is in Auburn for grad school, but he was there in spirit. I drove out there a few hours early to spend the afternoon with Amy Burch and Sara. We layed out at the pool and chatted and had a great time catching up. Baby Frank especially enjoyed the rock candy, wedding cake, and country music. There were several little children and babies there, and it made me a little teary-eyed to think that we will have our little man with us so soon.

Here are a couple of my favorite pictures from the wedding:
