Why is baby stuff so freaking cute?? I just had to post a picture of some of the adorable gifts we have received. The rubber ducky onesie is from Corey and Jonothon. I met them for brunch on Sunday, and it was great to catch up! I still have not bought anything for the baby, but I did make my first baby-related purchase--I bought myself a baby bag. I am in trouble once we find out the sex--I know that I am going to go crazy buying stuff.

16 weeks
I can't believe that I am already four months pregnant! Time is definitely flying by. I am still feeling some nausea, but I am hoping that will go away soon. My "bump" has not grown much the last two weeks. Most people still do not think that I look pregnant, but I am feeling more and more pregnant every day. Frank was home all week, so we got to spend a lot of time together, which was nice. He cooked me dinner every night and brought me Sprinkles cupcakes, so I was one happy pregnant lady! On Friday night I went out with Allison, Steve, Ashlee, and Cooper and had a great time. All of them generously volunteered to baby sit once Baby B is born...we'll see if they still feel that way when we actually need them.

Memorial Day Weekend
I hope that everyone had a nice, relaxing Memorial Day Weekend! First of all, I want to make sure to recognize and pay tribute to all of the brave men and women who gave their lives fighting for our country and our freedom. Everyone knows how important patriotism and pride in the military are to our family, and we hope everyone took at least a moment to pay tribute to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
We had a couple of baby milestones last week. First, Baby B received his/her first gift! Brooke & Mason sent us a very nice baby gift with a huge package of diapers, some newborn onesies, and two adorable bibs that say "I love Mommy" and "I love Daddy." I left everything in the box for Frank to open when he got home, and he said "this stuff smells like babies!" Ha! Thank you guys so much, it is so fun to have something tangible to relate to this new little life growing inside me. We also made our first trip together to Babies R Us on Saturday night. It was a little overwhelming looking at all of the different baby stuff, but it was fun to poke around and see what all is out there. We didn't actually buy anything, but I think that I have all of the furniture picked out for the baby's room, and I will order it shortly after finding out whether we are having a boy or a girl!
My energy levels have slowly been getting back towards normal the last couple of weeks, and I managed to work out three times this weekend--more than I have for the last three weeks combined! We went to the Colonial golf tournament with Jayson and Amy on Sunday, and it was a really long day of standing around in the heat, so I was pretty wiped out from that. Luckily we were able to duck into the military tent for water and A/C when I needed a break, and that saved me! This was the first weekend since being pregnant where I really wanted to drink a glass of wine or a margarita. I have also been eating a lot more normal foods lately--I think most of my aversions are going away, so that must be a good sign!
Frank is home all this week, and I am really excited to get to spend a lot of time with him.

14-week doctor's appointment
I went in for my 14-week doctor's appointment this morning, and things could not look better! The doctor listened to the baby's heartbeat on the Doppler, and the heartbeat was strong at 150 beats per minute. The doctor said that according to old wive's tales, that means we are having a girl! But of course we will not know for sure until the ultrasound in four weeks. Our big appointment is on June 21. I am disappointed that Frank will not be able to go with me, but I am so excited to find out what we are having!!

14 weeks
I have been feeling well this weekend after a rough day on Friday--I think that watching the Grey's Anatomy finale on Thursday completely wiped me out, and I woke up Friday morning with red, swollen eyes and a terrible headache. I had a couple of late nights and early mornings working last week, and that was tough. However, I have felt great this weekend, and hopefully that will continue. I go in for my next doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so please keep Baby B in your thoughts and prayers.

Girls' weekend
This weekend Lindsey, Brooke, Marisa, and Jennifer came to Dallas for a girls' weekend of shopping, eating, drinking, and relaxing. We had a great time, and I am so happy that they came! Jennifer brought me a bottle of alcohol-free wine that tasted surprisingly like the real thing, so I got to pretend that I was drinking with everyone. We went to a fundraising benefit for Animal Rescue of Texas on Saturday night, where Jennifer fell in love with a dog and Brooke won a bottle of Veuve champagne. One of the funniest moments of the weekend happened when Marisa called out a guy for not donating money when he happened to be one of the event's biggest sponsors. She said "I'm an asshole," and the guy said, "Hi Asshole, I'm Michael." It was hilarious. I miss you ladies already, and we missed Katie and Corey who were not able to make it.
I am now 13 weeks pregnant and feeling generally better, but I am still having sporadic stomach problems. I am hoping to get back into working out now that I have more energy. We go back to the doctor next week for a routine checkup, and then back to the doctor to find out the sex of the baby in 5 weeks! People seem pretty split on whether they think I am having a boy or a girl. Frank feels pretty strongly that I am having a boy--he has even dreamed about it--but I am not so sure. We can't wait to find out!

Happy Mother's Day!
I am officially 12 weeks pregnant today! Depending on which book you read, I am either done with or almost done with the first trimester. Thankfully, I am feeling much better and starting to get more and more excited about our baby. I wanted to thank all of my extremely thoughtful friends and family members who have sent us sweet cards in the mail. They always make my day! And I wanted to especially thank everyone who sent me a Mother's Day card--they were completely unexpected and so thoughtful. I am extremely excited to be a mother, and I can't wait until next year when I get to join all of the other amazing mothers out there! Happy Mothers Day to my wonderful mom and wonderful mothers-in-law. I hope you are all ready to be grandmothers!
